“Which country is best?” is the most common question Rahbar hears — and it has no universal answer. The right question is “which country is best for my goal, my budget and my timeline?” Here is the framework Rahbar uses to help you answer it.
Start with the goal, not the destination
Studying for a one-year master's, building a career for a few years, and settling permanently are three different journeys. Some countries are excellent for the first and weak for the third. Decide what you want in five years before you compare anything else.
Six filters that do most of the work
- Budget band — tuition level plus living costs plus the funds you must show for the visa
- Language — whether daily life and jobs need a language you will have to learn
- Post-study work — whether graduates can stay to gain experience, and for how long
- Settlement pathway — whether there is a realistic route to permanent residence for your profile
- Field demand — whether your subject leads to jobs there
- Community and climate — where you will actually be happy for years, not weeks
Then compare the two or three that survive
Once the filters remove the countries that do not fit, compare the survivors on the details: intakes, English requirements, the visa route and its documents, and what changes if your first choice fails. Rahbar's ten country guides are written to be compared side by side in exactly this way.
